Uphill Both Ways Without A/C. In Texas. In August.
Lately, I have been intimately acquainted with the inner workings of my car. The old bucket recently needed a brake job, spark plugs and a coil pack replacement. After tomorrow's additional repairs, I hope that it is again running on six cylinders instead of four. One can only hope.
A few of my friends are heading down the highway for a cross country antiquing trip. Max is looking for a classic Oldsmobile that hasn't been exposed to northern road salt, Jane is hunting midcentury knick knacks and John is after who knows what. They are taking the Sonoma---Yes, that's the LITTLE truck. They will be a little cramped on the way back if Max doesn't find his car, considering plans of filling the bed and behind the seats to the brim with their other miscellaneous finds.
While it is spring here, Texas is already experiencing summer-like temperatures..and now its probably unbearable. They are underestimating their need for air conditioning. The truck recently is out of warranty and the a/c began to fail in the fall. It wasn't attended to as it was not required for the rest of the season.
I hope they find what they are looking for, but I think I will wait a few weeks to inquire about their finds, should the trip be what I expect it to be.
