Old is New Again

I always remember stories about my great grandparents and their saving habits. Sure, they had their bonds and savings account. It was rumored, however, that there was a dip in the ceiling from where great grandmother had stored rolls of silver dollars in the floorboard of the attic rather than investing in mutual funds like she might have done if she were born decades later. Who knows if it is true, but I wouldn't doubt it.

Just like when your grandparents or great grandparents were getting established in life, there are many folks who are renewing their faith in buying gold. Some claim it to be a hedge against inflation, and some just think the old fashioned ways are best. Gold has experienced a 200 year old bear market according to some reports.

So, if you are so inclined, there are ways to purchase gold on the internet for a better rate to experience a better return on your investment than great grandma's attic rafters would have provided.

If you have purchased gold, comment and tell us what you think.
